There is a hole on each side of the block to allow the link pin to be removed from the bottom lugs of the barrel. On the left side the of the block the hole is drilled through the block and the link pin can be completely removed. On the right side the hole is drilled only deep enough to allow the link to be removed. The link pin is retained in the left barrel lug and does not have to be restarted in the barrel lug when reinstalling the link. Supports all style of 1911 barrels including straight and tapered cone.
